My (Updated) Vegan Skin Care Routine

Back in 2019, I created a skin care routine and since then I have completely revamped the routine. There was a lot of research done on my part and it was all well worth it because I truly needed a new regimen especially since my skin did break out very unexpectant and could not identity as to why.

You will identify that most of my products come from the skincare line, "Ordinary". I can personally really vouch for them. Improvements of my skin was seen within 3-4months once I switched most of products to theirs

My Skin type:

Dry, acne scars, occasional breakouts (hormonal + stress)

The Routine:

Step One: Vanicream Gentle Facial Cleanser

Step Two (weekly): AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution

An exfoliating facial with alpha-hydroxy and beta-hydroxy acids. This water-based rinse-off treatment is ideal as a solution for textural irregularities/ dullness/ signs of congested pores. Use 1-2x weekly for best results. You will feel a burning sensation, which is normal. This is an acid so first timers be weary that you will have to take precaution with what products you put on after this step. According to Ulta, "Contraindications: Do not use in the same routine as direct acids, EUK 134 0.1%, retinoids, pure or ethylated vitamin C, or peptides."

Step Three (day + night): Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5

You want to slap this bad boy on your face ASAP after your shower. Product will be absorbed and work it's magic in a better capacity when your skin is moist so do not go sit in your towel on your bed scrolling through Tik Tok.

I use this product for my eye area as well as my upper lip area. Helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles.

Step Five (night): Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion

This serum aids with signs of aging. VERY, very important to be mindful to not use other retinoid treatments along with this as well as direct acids, pure or ethylated vitamin C, or Buffet + Copper Peptides 1%. You want to avoid mixing because you can easily overdry and/or irritate your skin, but also, the products can simply cancel each other out and not function as they are suppose to a.k.a wasting time and money.
If for example you use the AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution product, you would have to skip this step in your routine for that night.

Step Six (day + night): Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%

Helps with acne and other texture irregularities. This is water based so helps retain that moisture in your skin.

Step Seven (night): 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil

Another product that helps targets signs of aging as well as aiding in moisture.

Step Eight (day + night) : Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA

This product helps fight dehydration and overall serves as a barrier to lock in all your products.

Step Nine (day): Clear Start Clearing Defense Moisturizer SPF 30

Once you are all done with your day routine, always, always, apply sunscreen (even if you will be indoors because windows are a thing) and it has to be the last product unless it will be completely useless. SPF can also aid in breakout-prone skin and fight environmental stressors (pollution).

Summary:

Day

Night

This skincare routine has helped me overcome some skin irregularities. Any questions or concerns, I am happy to answer to them all.
